Human Rights & Ethical Sourcing Statement
1. Commitment to Human Rights
Ballia Corpus recognizes that respect for human rights is fundamental to responsible business practices. We are committed to upholding internationally recognised human rights standards, including those embodied in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Labour Organization (ILO) Core Conventions. We strive to ensure that our business operations, supply chains and partnerships do not contribute to human rights abuses.
2. Labour Standards
Freedom from Forced or Compulsory Labour. Ballia Corpus prohibits any use of forced, bonded or involuntary labour in our operations and expects the same from suppliers. Workers must be free to leave their employment after reasonable notice.
No Child Labour. We do not employ children in violation of applicable laws. Suppliers must comply with minimum age requirements under national laws and ILO conventions.
Fair Compensation and Working Hours. We provide wages, benefits and working hours that meet or exceed legal and industry standards. Overtime is voluntary and compensated accordingly.
Safe and Healthy Work Environment. We maintain workplace conditions that protect the health and safety of employees and contractors. Suppliers are required to provide safe and hygienic working environments and to implement occupational health and safety measures.
3. Non‑Discrimination and Respectful Treatment
We embrace diversity and inclusion. We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment on the basis of race, colour, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, ethnicity, age, disability, marital status or any other protected category. Employees and contractors must be treated with dignity and respect.
4. Supply Chain Due Diligence
Supplier Compliance. Ballia Corpus expects suppliers and business partners to uphold similar human rights standards. We require suppliers to acknowledge and comply with our Code of Conduct or equivalent ethical policies.
Risk Assessment. We assess the risk of human rights violations in our supply chain, prioritising high‑risk geographies and industries. We aim to mitigate risks through monitoring, audits and engagement with suppliers.
Training and Awareness. We provide training and resources to our employees and encourage suppliers to educate their own staff about human rights and ethical practices.
Continuous Improvement. We work collaboratively with suppliers to implement corrective actions where issues are identified. Failure to address serious violations may result in termination of the business relationship.
